Shore Local’s Choice Awards – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in the Shore Local’s Choice Awards (the “Awards”), including nominations, voting and promotional activities. By participating, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. Eligibility

Participation is open to individuals age 18 or older. Businesses, organizations and services nominated must operate within Shore Local’s coverage area of Atlantic and Cape May counties and be in good standing at the time of participation.

2. Participation & Conduct

Participants agree to:

Provide accurate and truthful information

Participate in a fair and respectful manner

Refrain from any activity that disrupts or manipulates the voting process

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

Use of bots, scripts or automated voting tools

Creation of fake accounts or email addresses

Offering incentives (discounts, giveaways, compensation) in exchange for votes

Coordinated or fraudulent voting schemes

3. Nominations & Voting

Shore Local reserves the right to review, edit or remove nominations for accuracy, duplication or appropriateness.

Voting limits may be enforced (e.g., one vote per category per day).

Shore Local may use verification methods, including IP tracking and email validation, to ensure fairness.

Any votes deemed invalid or suspicious may be disqualified at Shore Local’s sole discretion.

4. Content & Usage Rights

By participating, businesses and individuals grant Shore Local News Magazine the right to:

Use business names, logos and submitted content for editorial and promotional purposes

Publish results in print, digital and social media formats

Reference participation in marketing and promotional materials

No compensation will be provided for such use.

5. Disqualification

Shore Local reserves the right to disqualify any participant, nominee or business that violates these Terms or attempts to compromise the integrity of the Awards. Disqualification may occur at any stage without prior notice.

6. Results & Final Decisions

All results are based on verified voting data. Shore Local reserves the right to audit and adjust results as necessary. All decisions regarding nominees, finalists and winners are final and not subject to appeal.

7. Third-Party Platforms

If any portion of the Awards is conducted באמצעות a third-party platform, users may also be subject to that platform’s terms and privacy policies. Shore Local is not responsible for third-party practices.

8. Limitation of Liability

Shore Local News Magazine is not responsible for:

Technical issues, interruptions or errors in the voting platform

Lost, delayed or incomplete submissions

Unauthorized access or misuse of participant information

Participation is at your own risk.

9. Modifications

Shore Local reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updates.
